We care about your child and their swimming enjoyment. We are happy to see kids flourish and learn how to be confident, competent swimmers. Having fun, teamwork, accomplishing targets and goals, will help them grow in and out of the pool.
Our International Syllabus and Curriculum are of the ASTCA Swim Australia and Austswim standard. All our coaches have (ASCTA) qualifications. Finding success at Swim Hua Hin is easy because we understand following the steps are an intregual part of success.
We provide fun Learn To Swim programs, based on progressive teaching methods for babies, toddlers, children and adults. Whether you are a beginner, someone with a fear of water, or someone who would like to develop their swimming skills, we can create a program to suit your needs. We teach in the pool with the students as they will learn far more effectively when given the support they need.
From a young age we can progressively teach your children to appreciate and love water, reach the safety of the pool edge on their own, and develop correct swimming stroke techniques. Studies have shown that children that learn to swim from a young age, and continue learning and developing their swimming techniques throughout their childhood, are often better learners and are able to pick up other sports more quickly as a result of the physical benefits of swimming. Giving your child the opportunity to become a good swimmer is something they will always be grateful for.
For infants the learning process starts from birth, after spending 9 months immersed in a watery environment they are ready to learn. The best way to get your child started is to make bath time a fun and enjoyable activity for your child. We recommend that parents provide cuddling, playing and communicating opportunities as part of their infants daily bath routine. These early learning experiences in the bath are important as they are in fact the child's first introduction to swimming. Start with Swim Hua Hin from 3 months old for group classes.
At about 5 months-1 year of age, babies often become quite mobile on land, this is when they are ready to start formal swimming lessons as they are then able to start to initiate movement in the water. We can teach basic water safety, breath control, and an understanding and appreciation of the water.
By the age of 2, they will start to swim using primitive actions to propel them through the water, and can learn basic safety skills like swimming to the side of the pool and climbing out themselves.
A parent or guardian of the child is required to participate in their childs lessons until they are emotionally ready to learn without them, usually around 30 months old.
From about 3 or 4 years of age we can begin teaching basic freestyle using progressive learn to swim techniques. Children become capable of swimming and breathing. They will become more independent in the water and will show a strong desire for independent play in shallow water. While it is important to encourage supervised independent play, children must be exposed to repetitive practice of basic swimming skill to develop great swimming ability. Classes will be private only, one student at a time, however from 4 years of age experienced swimmers can join in with small group classes and enjoy some social interaction with other children of similar ability while they learn to improve their swimming skills. Private classes are recommended to begin with for new swimmers. For group lessons, we recommend class sizes of 3 - 5 children.
At this age children are ready to learn to swim proper Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly. With our progressive teaching methods, children will develop excellent swimming technique. A consistent approach to learning to swim is best. Children will benefit most from year round swimming lessons once or twice a week.
Squad Training is for competent swimmers from 8 years of age, looking to increase their fitness, speed and endurance in the water, fine tune their technique, and learn competition starts and turns. At this level swimmers can begin working towards competing, achieving personal goals and learning to be a part of a team.
We are more than happy to come to your school and enhance your School Swimming Program, or develop a new program. Whether it be for Learn To Swim classes, stroke development, water saftey and survival, or Squad Training, we are ready to assist.
Swimming is not only an important life skill, but a safe, low impact exercise that improves overall fitness and well-being. It is a great way to tone muscles, burn calories, improve circulation and cardiovascular fitness. Swimming is also a safe and effective injury rehabilitation exercise.
So whether you have a fear of water, would like to improve your stroke, train for a Triatholon, or improve your physique, and regardless of whether or not you had any formal swimming lessons as a child, we can tailor a program to suit your needs.
Swim Hua Hin will now give students achievement awards to those that are able to demonstrate certain swimming skills in the pool. There are a total of 11 levels, beginning with Starfish Level 1 and 2 for Water Confidence and Safety, then 3 Sea Turtle and Sea Lion Levels for Stroke Development. Last but not least, Whale Levels 1-3 will be awarded for Technique and Stamina.
